Kat Peeler, Chief Executive Officer

Kat Peeler is a high-performing, award-winning senior executive and entrepreneur with over 23 years of experience in Strategic Brand Development and Management for Personal Care and Consumer Products. Kat has a proven track record of successfully transforming business concepts into reality. She possesses a wealth of experience and credibility with strengths including strategic vision and business optimization, extensive new product development and innovation in U.S. and globally, repositioning and managing for turnaround or renewed growth, consumer insight across general market and diverse targets, and exceptional judgment with a winning spirit.

Over the course of her career, Kat discovered several passions that are now part of her core professional goals – working towards a greener, sustainable future; making healthy living more accessible; and contributing to better lives for underprivileged, minority communities. As Founder and CEO of Eco Guar Group, Kat has created a business to reflect her passions.  Eco Guar Group is dedicated to empowering healthier lives as a leading-edge supplier of natural Guar products with a focus on sustainability and ethical community fair trade.  

Prior to Eco Guar Group, Kat was a Senior Vice President at L’Oréal. Her most significant role during her 17-year career at L’Oréal was in the Consumer Products Division leading Garnier Hair, including Haircare, Styling and Haircolor businesses. She held P&L responsibility for the $540 million business across three personal care categories with a business driver budget over $130 million. Her brands included Fructis – the largest brand in L’Oréal USA and in Garnier globally. 

Kat was the marketing powerhouse behind Garnier Fructis, L’Oréal's biggest launch worldwide in its history, which ranked #5 in Advertising Age magazine’s “10 Most Successful Product Launches” for 2003, and through her passion and devotion made Garnier Fructis the #5 haircare line at retail in just 8 months (in a $4.3 billion US haircare market).

A recognized expert, Kat’s marketing innovation, distinction and excellence have won her numerous accolades. She has been interviewed and quoted in numerous articles and publications including a profile in the Inc.com article “Personal Branding and Professional Success” in June 2015.

Kat received her Master of Management degree from the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University and earned her undergraduate degree in Engineering from Princeton University.

Sumer Aulakh, Chief Technical Officer

Sumer Aulakh is a seasoned manufacturing, strategic investment and operations professional with over 15 years of experience. He has a proven track record in the Guar Gum and Hydrocolloids industry with a focus on quality, sustainability, traceability and industry-leading employee benefits practices in India. Sumer set up a greenfield unit for Ray Energy Solutions in partnership with C&J Energy (NYSE - CJES) in India and took it to a $45 million per year business in less than three years.

As Ray Energy Solutions Chief Operating Officer, Sumer set up an up-stream Guar Seed processing plant in the Guar growing region to enable direct sourcing from Farmers via Co-Ops which was an Industry first. Additionally, to ensure traceability of material, he implemented Inventory Management and Production Models, which was unique to the Industry. Under Sumer's leadership, Ray Energy Solutions was the first plant to focus on clean energy by incorporating Solar Energy into the Industrial process, thereby reducing LPG consumption by 40%. And Sumer launched industry-leading employee benefits practices including full Health Insurance coverage for all employees and their families as well as setting up a dedicated 401K type savings plan.

Sumer began his career at Thomas Weisel Partners in San Francisco and was a Compliance Associate on the Legal/Operations team. He was in charge of monitoring and conducting reviews of Insider Trading activities, Investment Banking / Equity Research Chinese Wall management and Institutional Trading. He regularly interacted with NYSE, NASD and SEC in their audits of the firm. After Thomas Weisel, Sumer served as Vice President for Forest Lane Group and established its real estate portfolio in India, including a mix of residential, retail and commercial properties. In total, Sumer has over eight years of experience in investing in India.

Sumer earned his undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from Thapar University in India.

K.V. Dhillon, director

K.V. Dhillon is a seasoned finance and investment professional with over 21 years of experience. He has a proven track record of succeeding in the financial public and private markets. K.V. has possessed leadership roles in premier global financial institutions, and he has actively managed capital for prominent institutional investors, successfully outperforming expectations.

K.V. is a Managing Director at Guggenheim Capital. His most significant role during his 10-year career at Guggenheim was expanding the firm’s presence in Asia. K.V. established Guggenheim's asset management platform in Asia where he was responsible for all investment decisions, fundraising and operations. K.V. successfully launched three funds, managing over $350 million in assets, and he led a large team of investment professionals. His funds were consistently ranked in the top quartile for performance by Cambridge Associates.

K.V. received his Master of Management degree from the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University and earned his undergraduate degree in Economics and Psychology from the University of Calgary.

ANGELA FULLEN, ADVISOR

Angela Fullen is an accomplished strategic marketing leader with over 21 years of experience bringing a customer-centric mindset to organizations. Working in the personal care, food and energy industries, she has been very successful in transferring her broad-based marketing and product management expertise to a variety of industries and product categories. With extensive knowledge in new product development, market research and implementing effective integrated marketing plans, Angela has a proven track record of delivering the right product, to the right people, in the right way.

Prior to Eco Guar Group, Angela spent more than four years in the energy industry. As Director, New Product Marketing at NRG Energy, she built a team that drove the identification and validation of consumer-driven new products and delivered targeted go-to-market strategies for distributed generation, residential solar and home automation products and services. She led high-profile innovation projects that delivered a pipeline of breakthrough new product concepts. 

Angela’s foundation is consumer product marketing. While at Avon, L’Oréal, and Borden Foods, she solidified established businesses and provided new revenue streams through new product introductions under the Avon Skin So Soft, Garnier Haircare, Borden Cheese and Classico Pasta Sauce brands. Championing a fast-track process and an accelerated go-to-market plan, Angela led the Classico Pasta Sauce team to successfully launch company and category innovations with new Alfredo sauces, exceeding market share and distribution goals. Developing and implementing a $30 million marketing plan, Angela managed L’Oréal's introductory launch of the first product line in the US for Garnier - Belle Color. 

Angela has provided marketing consulting to both small businesses and Fortune 500 companies helping with marketing strategy, positioning development, qualitative research and product innovation. During her time living in China, she was able to share her western marketing expertise with various organizations while gaining an enhanced global perspective on doing business internationally.

Angela received her Master of Management degree from the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University and earned her undergraduate degree in Industrial Engineering from Northwestern University.
